It's become quite the tradition to celebrate our family members' birthdays on multiple occasions and so Jetu celebrated her 4th birthday once or twice so far and still has one to look forward to in the next few weeks. Her birthday was June 12 and so we had ice cream cake and a couple of presents at our very good friends' house after swimming in their pool.
We also let her select a restaurant for a special meal for a birthday dinner - she selected one of our new favorites - Ethiopia Sport Cafe. We just found the place about a month or so ago and took a chance - the girls loved it and so did Mama. We took Papa back for the birthday dinner and he enjoyed it as well. The girls love the food and the limited but authentic Ethiopian wood carvings and decorations inside; Nebyat always gets a bit nostalgic for Ethiopia when we're there.
Jetu WILL have her kid party soon. She has chosen to have a Princess & the Frog party and we originally planned for it the weekend right after her birthday, but with Graham's accident and our travels we put it off a week. Then Mama had a little health scare with a pesky gall stone in a bile duct and had to have a little procedure the day before the party, so we delayed one more time. She doesn't really realize the delay and is still looking forward to celebrating in Princess Style sometime soon.
