In the beginning....

I wanted to start this blog to document and share our adoption experience. Gigs and I decided even before we were married that we would pursue adoption. Adoption seemed to draw us in for many reasons: my advanced maternal age; his familial history of autism; our desire to grow our family; and first and foremost, our desire to seek God's will.

The bible says in James 1:26-27 (NIV):

If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

OK - No wise cracks about the tongue stuff. We are kinda' cherry pickin' the orphan piece, but honestly we are striving to adhere to the other principles as well. Some of them are just harder than others...
