I discussed with our local social worker the issues with our international agency this week and she agreed things are seriously unstable suddenly in Russia - between the invasion of Georgia, the related inevitable breakdown of US-Russia relations, the July death of the poor baby in Herndon (adopted through our agency in March), the agency's delayed reporting to Russia, the subsequent investigation, their new fee structure where they want a lot more non-refundable money up front, etc. It's not good news for us, not sure just how bad it is yet. We may have to change agencies, we may need to scrap totally the Russia plan, who knows. Say some prayers for the right decisions at this time.

Oh, TJ, I hadn't thought about how Russia's invasion of George could affect adoptions. I'm praying!
